Set it up in five minutes
Ratguard is plug and play. Get these three things right and the device does the rest.
Quick start
Plug it in about 2 feet above the floor
Any normal wall socket works. Choose a dry, secure spot with a clear line across the room — height gives the sound an open path instead of firing into the skirting board.
Keep the front completely clear
Nothing in front of the speaker. No cloth, no metal, no cartons. ultrasound does not pass through walls or furniture, so anything in the way is a blind spot.
Leave it running 24/7
It draws under 5 watts — about the same as a small LED bulb. Continuous power is what makes it work; switching it off at night undoes the pressure on the rodents.
Where are you installing it?
Shop & office
- One unit per room — sound does not travel through walls.
- Place it in the open, not behind curtains or soft furnishing that absorb sound.
- Keep the area clean and seal the obvious entry points.
- Keep it nearest to where you see the most activity.
Warehouse & godown
- Mount it in an open area for the widest coverage.
- Never behind racking, stock, boxes or heavy obstacles.
- Large floors need more than one unit.
- Seal major rodent entry points wherever possible.
Car & vehicle
- Fit inside the engine bay, away from direct water splash.
- Keep clear of moving parts and of the exhaust manifold.
- Secure the wiring properly and check battery polarity before connecting.
- Recommended: fitting by a qualified auto electrician.
What to expect
Day 1–3 — activity may rise
Rodents react to the changed ultrasound environment before they leave. A short increase in movement is normal and expected, not a sign it is failing.
Day 4-10 — clear drop
Most customers see a noticeable reduction in this window. Keep the unit powered and keep food sources sealed.
Week 3–4 — settled
Heavy infestations take longer. Results vary with hygiene, food availability and how many entry points remain open.
