How it works
How does Ratguard actually work?
It emits ultrasonic sound between 22 and 65 kHz — above the range people hear, but harsh and disorienting for rats and mice, so they leave the space and stay away.
The frequency shifts continuously across that range. That matters: fixed-frequency repellents stop working once rodents get used to one tone.
Is it safe for people, children and pets?
Yes. The frequencies sit above normal human hearing and do not affect cats or dogs. There is no poison, no trap, no chemical and no dead rodent to clear up.
One exception worth knowing: if you keep pet rodents — hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits — do not run the device in the same room. They are rodents too.
Will the sound travel through walls?
No. Ultrasound bounces off walls, doors and solid objects rather than passing through them. Plan on one unit per enclosed space, placed where nothing blocks the front of it.
Does it kill rats, or just drive them away?
It repels — it does not kill. Rodents leave because the space stops being comfortable. That is the point: no carcasses behind cupboards or inside machinery.
If you already have a heavy infestation, just leave the unit powered and give it time. The frequency shifts automatically across the whole range — there is no setting to change.
Setting it up
Where should I place the device?
A normal wall socket about 2 feet above the floor, with a clear line across the room. Nothing in front of the speaker — no cloth, no metal, no cartons.
Put it nearest to where you actually see activity. Full details are in the installation guide.
Do I need more than one unit?
One per enclosed space. The MINI covers up to 1,500 sq ft and the Pro 360 up to 2,500 sq ft — but that is a single open area, not a total.
A warehouse split by racking, partitions or separate rooms needs one unit per section.
Should I switch it off at night?
No — leave it running 24/7. Rodents are most active at night, and switching it off releases the pressure that makes them move out.
Does it need refills or servicing?
None at all. No refills, no cartridges, no cleaning schedule, no annual service. Plug it in and leave it.
Results
How long before I see a difference?
Most customers see a clear drop in 7 to 10 days. A heavy or long-standing infestation can take 3 to 4 weeks.
Activity went UP in the first few days. Is it faulty?
No — this is normal and expected. Rodents move about more while they react to the changed environment, before they decide to leave. It is the most common thing customers write to us about in week one.
Give it the full 7 to 10 days before judging it, and keep the unit powered the whole time.
Will the rats come back?
Not while it is running. But if food, water and open entry points remain available, new rodents will keep testing the space.
Ratguard is a deterrent, not a substitute for sealing gaps and storing food properly. It works best alongside both.
Which rodents does it work on?
The common rat and mouse species found in Indian homes, shops, warehouses and vehicles — including the house rat, brown rat and house mouse.
Power & durability
How much electricity does it use?
Under 5 watts — about the same as a small LED bulb. Running one continuously costs a few rupees a month.
How long does the device last?
It is built to run continuously, round the clock. The build is metal, with overheat and short-circuit protection.

Which model should I buy?
Ratguard MINI — shops, offices, server and electrical rooms up to 1,500 sq ft.
Ratguard Pro 360 — warehouses, godowns and factories up to 2,500 sq ft.
Ratguard SonicArmor X — car and vehicle engine bays.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
Yes, Cash on Delivery is available across India, and there is no COD handling fee.
Paying online instead saves you ₹200 on the order.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days and shipped with Blue Dart, usually arriving in 4 to 8 business days depending on your location.
You will get a tracking ID by SMS, WhatsApp or email. Follow it on the track order page.
What warranty do I get?
1 year on every Ratguard product — Ratguard MINI, Ratguard Pro 360 and Ratguard SonicArmor X alike.
It covers verified manufacturing defects. It does not cover physical damage, burnt components from voltage fluctuation, reverse-polarity wiring or unauthorised repairs. Water and moisture damage is excluded on the Ratguard MINI and Ratguard Pro 360, but not on the Ratguard SonicArmor X, which is water and heat resistant. Full terms on the warranty policy page.
Can I return it if it does not work for me?
Yes — 7 days from delivery, and we do not ask you to justify the reason.
One thing to know up front: return courier charges are paid by you under our self-return model. Everything you paid for the order comes back.
